We are currently seeking a skilled and committed individual to join our team as a:
  • MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – SUMMER STUDENT
  • $18.60 per hour, plus 4% vacation and statutory holiday pay as per the Employment Standards Act
  • Temporary Full-Time, Monday to Friday (July 6, 2026, to August 28, 2026).
  • The Maintenance Assistant Summer Student provides support and assistance to the Maintenance department under the guidance of the Supervisor of Maintenance.

Major Responsibilities:
Perform tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance such as:
  • Maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs.
  • Collect and dispose garbage.
  • Clean mechanical rooms and shop areas.
  • Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
Assist in the cleaning of the office building, performing such tasks as:
  • Cleaning desks, tables, bathrooms, windows.
  • Operating a floor cleaning machine.
 
Key Qualifications:
  • Expressed interest in landscaping and/or janitorial services.
  • Experience with the use of power equipment such as trimmers, lawn mower, and blowers considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform functions such as lifting, sweeping, mopping, bending.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as contribute as part of a team.
