We are currently seeking a skilled and committed individual to join our team as a:
- MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – SUMMER STUDENT
- $18.60 per hour, plus 4% vacation and statutory holiday pay as per the Employment Standards Act
- Temporary Full-Time, Monday to Friday (July 6, 2026, to August 28, 2026).
- The Maintenance Assistant Summer Student provides support and assistance to the Maintenance department under the guidance of the Supervisor of Maintenance.
Major Responsibilities:
Perform tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance such as:
- Maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs.
- Collect and dispose garbage.
- Clean mechanical rooms and shop areas.
- Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
Assist in the cleaning of the office building, performing such tasks as:
- Cleaning desks, tables, bathrooms, windows.
- Operating a floor cleaning machine.
Key Qualifications:
- Expressed interest in landscaping and/or janitorial services.
- Experience with the use of power equipment such as trimmers, lawn mower, and blowers considered an asset.
- Ability to perform functions such as lifting, sweeping, mopping, bending.
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as contribute as part of a team.
